Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace

CU locust trees on the groundalways in every way. The Lord be with you all. 2 Thes. 3:16 NKJV

Tree trimmers roped three locust trees, notched them and brought all to the ground yesterday. A dead pine was also cut. One lone locust remains. Because of its height and angle, it needs a climber. The owner of the company hired to do the job asked to be paid for the three, and he was to return today to finish the work. So far, he and the climber have not arrived. Of course, the most challenging tree to cut down is the one which requires a climber. CU one remaining locust tree needs climberThe still small voice inside is telling me except for the owner coming back for his rope, he may not finish the job as contracted. Thankfully, I have a back-up tree trimmer who is an expert climber. He was supposed to do the entire job but was not immediately available. By phone he reassured me if need be, I could call him. Alas, not all business owners conduct themselves with equal integrity. The Lord is giving me peace, despite this lesson.

  1. I started a comment earlier but I don’t think it went through. I was saying that I too don’t have much faith in contractors regardless of what they do for a living. We have had some issues with our remodeling project now that it is finished but our contractor doesn’t want to deal with it. I think that accepting the least expensive price isn’t always the best choice. The cheapest bidder is usually the worst contractor who wants his money ahead of time and may never come back. I have started using larger contractors who are more reliable.

I will pay a small amount down on a large project but won’t pay the entire amount until the jog is completed. And even small jobs can be a problem if you pay everything in advance. I would hold on to his rope until the job is finished.

    Take Care Gabrielle!

    • Thank you for your comments, Parl. Paying for three of the trees cut down before all were eliminated disadvantaged me since the alternate tree trimmer is now quoting me 63 percent of the whole job to take down the lone fourth tree. There may be another option with help from a third tree trimmer who has a bucket. Will see. Despite all this, Christ’s peace is still available to tap.
